Chase ended on I-90 near Tomah

A high-speed chase ended with a stolen van – on three tires and a rim – being stopped near Tomah, Wis. this morning.

The thief stole the van from Bob’s Lock and Safe on La Crosse St., around 8 a.m. Pursuit began almost immediately, as the van then accelerated to 60 mph.

But, when the suspect headed north on 24th St., hitting a parked vehicle, the pursuit was terminated by command.

Police watched the van head east on I-90, where the Wisconsin State Patrol too pursuit.

That took place for 27 miles, before police used stop sticks to stop the van and take the suspect into custody.

Nobody was injured and the incident is still being investigated.
