Tens of millions worth of park projects need funding in La Crosse

City has just $9 million overall in bonding

There are literally dozens of park projects worth tens of millions of dollars have to be narrowed down as part of the ongoing budget planning process in La Crosse.  

“I wish we could fund all the projects we have,” park board chair and city council member Ryan Cornett said. “There’s quite a large amount we hope to get through, but in the end, we only allow about $9 million to bond, so it’s really whittling those things down.”

And that’s $9 million worth of bonding overall for the city, added Cornett. His top priorities: Getting some movement on Memorial Pool and doing work at Powell Park and the new, all-access Trane Park.
