La Crosse Rep. Party chair excited for Pence visit, expects Trump in town next

VP nominee expected to speak at UW-L around 3 p.m.

The first of the presidential nominees headed to La Crosse on Thursday.

Around 3 p.m., Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence will speak at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Rep. Party chair Bill Feehan thinks he won’t be the last.

“This is a purple state and La Crosse is an important media market,” Feehan said. “We expect we’ll see Donald Trump before this is over.”

Feehan believes Pence’s visit will send a wave of fresh energy flowing through the local Rep. Party.

“We’re just getting stated with this campaign and, yes, we expect a lot of people to show up and start volunteering,” Feehan said. “When we get visits like this, it creates enthusiasm and gets people involved.”

Including, Wednesday, Feehan said. He’s gathering about 30 volunteers to help out with the Pence appearance.
