No Bucks D-League team in La Crosse, but what about the T-wolves?

So, the Milwaukee Bucks don’t want to put a farm team in La Crosse.

The Bucks recently told La Crosse Center director Art Fahey that La Crosse is out of the running for a D-League franchise.

Apparently, a big reason for that was geography.

But, there are other basketball teams that need D-League franchises.

In fact, there’s one even closer to La Crosse than the Bucks – the one that was headed by former Catbirds coach Flip Saunders.

Would La Crosse have a chance of hosting a Minnesota Timberwolves farm club?

“I don’t think the reaction was that we’d be running for that,” La Crosse Center board president Brent Smith said, “because we obviously aren’t in the state of Minnesota – not that that’s the only qualification, but that was ranked pretty high.”

Smith feels the Center made a “good effort” at attracting that Bucks affiliate.
