Plan coming for La Crosse’s Rose Street corridor

next week to develop new plan

A new plan could be coming for the entire Rose Street corridor in La Crosse.

Next week, the city council committee votes on a proposal to develop a plan on the future of the corridor from the interstate to the La Crosse River. 

The proposal will focus on economic development, transportation and other issues for the area for years to come. 

It will also coordinate with the DOT on changes the state agency is making to Rose – something city council rep Ryan Cornett doesn’t find it that unusual.

“We’ve always tried to work with the DOT,” he said. “It’s not like … everyone thinks that we’re always fighting with them, but we are trying to work with them constantly.”

The proposal commits around $200,000 for a plan and also creates a special committee for developing it.
