Search is now down to two
The search is down to two for the next chief of police at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, but not because the school cut candidates.
The two that dropped out of the running: Milwaukee Police Department assistant chief Kurt Leibold accepted a position as the chief of police for UW-Oshkosh and Lisa Josvai, the campus security director for Viterbo, let UW-L know that she was withdrawing her application.
Josvai resigned as chief deputy of the Monroe County Sheriff’s office to take the Viterbo job two years ago.
That leaves Bangor chief Scott Alo and interim UW-L chief Scott McCullough as the two candidates remaining for the vacant position.
Chancellor Joe Gow says he’s surprised more candidates are not seeking a great job at UW-L. Gow said the position will be filled after candidates have toured the campus and have gone through final interviews.
