Vikings to honor Caledonia as program of year

Team will be awarded with $10,000 
check during Sunday Night Football

The Minnesota Vikings have named the Caledonia High School’s football team the program of the year and awarded the In Game Award.

The Warriors, who went undefeated in winning a MSHSL Class 2A title, will be honored during the Vikings matchup with the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. The Vikings will present the team with a $10,000 check.

The honor can be attested to teacher Carol Nelson, who wrote an essay on the Caledonia community to the Vikings, who then named the town as a finalist in the contest. That prompted the Vikings to film that atmosphere from the team to the surrounding community’s support of Caledonia football.
