Wheatland, Wis. – A 62-year-old falling asleep at the wheel on Highway 35 leads to a three-car pileup on Wednesday afternoon.

Chaseburg, Wis., native Nancy Wrobel was heading north on 35 when she apparently fell asleep. Her vehicle crossed the center line and struck 51-year-old Andrew Klema’s truck.

Klema went over the guardrail. As that happened, 53-year-old Jean-Marie Black nailed by Wrobel’s car which had stopped in the southbound lane.

Wrobel sustained minor injuries and was sent to the hospital. Seat belts were worn by all drivers and the highway was shut down for a short period of time. The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s office.
