Oktoberfest button design contest has begun

Contest runs through Jan. 20

The 56^th Annual Oktoberfest La Crosse button design contest has begun.

The theme next year is Family, Friends and Fun. The contest will run through Jan. 20.

Each year the contest draws an estimated 60 or more entries. The winner is selected by the La Crosse Festivals, Inc. board of directors. Complete contest rules can be read here.

The selected design will be unveiled March 10 at the Third Annual Forks and Corks event to benefit the Gemütlichkeit Foundation, the charitable arm of La Crosse Festivals.

The 2016 Oktoberfest celebration will be held September 29 to October 2.
