Sprinkler system saves La Crosse business

Flammable materials didn’t ignite
thanks to sprinklers at Badger Corrugating

Had the sprinklers not kicked in, Badger Corrugating might have been burned a lot worse than it was.

Fire alarms went off before 5 a.m. this morning alerting workers to evacuate the business on Green Bay Street in La Crosse. Fire crews found smoke, but the fire was contained thanks to the sprinkler system.

Investigators say flammable materials near the fire could have been ignited, if the sprinklers had not worked.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
