Campaign goal is to raise $874,000

Match day will, again, be an important part of the Christmas Red Kettle campaign in La Crosse.

The Salvation Army announced that all kettle donations in the county on that day, Dec. 12, will be matched, up to $75,000. This is the largest one-day match the La Crosse Corps has seen.

Donors can drop checks or cash into a red kettle at any bell-ringing site or stop into the La Crosse Corps at 223 North Eighth Street (click for map). People can also send in or drop off a post-dated check all week to the same address.

Money raised during the Christmas Red Kettle campaign funds nearly every program the Salvation Army operates locally, including the homeless shelter, the meal program and case management. The goal for this year’s campaign is $874,000.
