Over 1,100 tags for children’s Christmas wishes to be taken

To the Salvation Army, it’s almost as big as its red kettle campaign.

The lights were turned on the Angel Giving Tree at Valley View mall Monday morning.

Julie Nelson with the La Crosse Salvation Army says it’s a symbol that’s been around a long time. On the tree are over 1,100 tags from area children with a gift wish.

You can pull a tag, purchase the gift and return it to the tree or a La Crosse Salvation Army location by Dec. 8. On Dec. 17, gifts will be given to the children’s families to wrap and give on Christmas.
