Lot C county’s biggest 2016 project

No. 2 on list is Lakeview nursing facility

The big construction project taking up an entire city block in downtown La Crosse is the county’s top budget priority for 2016. 

No question about it, county administrator Steve O’Malley said.

Besides all of the construction planned on Lot C, the county will be busy next year remodeling the Associated Bank on State Street so county offices can move in. 

O’Malley says the No. 2 priority is to build a replacement for the 40-year-old Lakeview nursing facility in West Salem. The county board has been asked to approve $17 million in bonding for Lakeview.
