The Festmaster has been named in La Crosse

Oktoberfest royalty just introduced at Festmaster’s Ball

Chuck Roth is the new Festmaster for Oktoberfest. 

Roth has worked with local TV station for nearly 30 years, serving most of that time as general manager.  He also headed the La Crosse Community Theatre board of directors during the construction of the Weber Center for the Performing Arts. 

Roth will have a whirlwind week ahead, both with the actual fest and a round of public appearances after Sunday. 

Outgoing Festmaster Scott Horne recalls the week following Oktoberfest as one of the best parts of the ‘royal’ experience, especially the visits to nursing homes.  

Roth is a Janesville, Wis., native. He and his wife LuAnn have three adult children.

He takes the crown from Judge Scott Horne.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
