City to approve more parking ramp repairs

Public Works just spent $80k to fix pillars

More repairs to a downtown parking ramp could be approved by a La Crosse city committee tonight. 

The public works department wants to fix a pillar in the basement of the Market Square ramp. Assistant public works director Bob Haines says it’s the second part of a repair project began a few months ago. 

During the first part of the $80,000 project, concrete wall panels on upper floors of the ramp had to be put back in place. Some panels were leaning, and city workers were concerned that a panel might fall out onto the ground.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
