Onalaska High honored among nations best schools

OHS honored among 335 National Blue Ribbon schools

Arne Duncan recognized Onalaska High School today among the nation’s best.

The U.S. Secretary of Education honored 335 National Blue Ribbon schools for their overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Students and staff at OHS will celebrated during the final hour of school with visits from staff, district administrators and community leaders.

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors institutions where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.

The U.S. Dept. of Education lists over 26,400 public and 10,600 private schools in the nation.
