Public healthcare meeting by state at 12:30 p.m. today at library

Agency wants public’s opinion on long-term healthcare

One state agency comes to La Crosse today to get some ideas from the public on what long-term healthcare should look like.

At 12:30 p.m. today at the La Crosse public library on Main Street, the Department of Health Services will have a hearing to get the public’s opinion.

It will focus on state budget plans that would require the DHS to replace the existing Family Care program for independent living with a system that has not been tested in Wisconsin, yet.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
