Conservatives were pushing for Speaker to defund Planned Parenthood

Ron Kind doesn’t think the resignation of Speaker John Boehner will help Congress get things done.

The La Crosse representative said Boehner has been caught in the middle, between conservatives and the more moderate Republicans. 

Kind praises Boehner as a speaker who has been ‘fair and reasonable’ in working with Democrats.

Very conservative House members have been pushing Boehner to defund Planned Parenthood, even at the risk of shutting down the government.
