Parking czar for La Crosse approved at $60k a year

Job entails ramp upkeep, collecting money, snow removal

The job description for a $60,000-a-year parking manager position has been approved by La Crosse’s parking board. 

The city is planning to hire a manager to supervise the upkeep of the downtown ramps, collect money from ticket gates and perform other duties, including snow plowing.

Assistant public works director Bob Haines has told the board that he ends up doing much of the ramp maintenance by himself, taking time away from his administrative duties.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
