Cashton man shot his mother Wednesday

First responders found mother with wounds in her side and back

Details are coming in on a shooting in Cashton, Wis., on Wednesday night.

The Monroe County Sheriff says 23-year-old Cody Kraabel of Ontario, Wis., shot his 50-year-old mother,Terri Keepers, in a horse barn just after 6 p.m.

When first responders arrived, Keepers was walking around with a gun shot wound to her side and back. Kraabel fled shortly after only to be arrested in Ontario.

The matter is still under investigation jointly by the Cashton Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff s Office.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
