Food drive at Radisson downtown until 5:30 tonight

Fill the Truck proceeds go to WAFER food pantry

It’s a labor of love for volunteers out in front of the Radisson in downtown La Crosse today.

Actually, a labor of love and need, says Amy Treu.  She took the day off from work today to help collect food and cash donations for the Fill the Truck event to benefit the WAFER food pantry.  Working from 7  a.m. – 5:30 p.m., in part because she has friends and family who have, at times, run short on food and had to go to the food pantry.

This is the fourth year for the benefit, sponsored by the Radisson in partnership with Midwest Family Broadcasting.  In past years, the effort has collected about a ton of food and a couple thousand dollars in cash.
