Fired historical society president broke court order because he didn’t get his news letter

The 77-year-old Keil also has hearing
for stealing thousands from group

The former head of a local historical society pleads ‘not guilty’ to bail-jumping, related to his arrest on theft charges. 

Ward Keil has a plea hearing later this month for allegedly stealing about 40,000 dollars from the Onalaska Historical Society, when he was the group’s president. 

Keil had been ordered to avoid contact with the society. The 77-year-old, apparently, didn’t listen.

He was charged last week with violating his bond, showing up at the historical society to find out why his newsletter hadn’t come in the mail.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
