Police abandon high-speed chase for safety reasons, catch speeder

Man flew by police at 59 in 25 on motorcycle

Sparta police say a man admitted to fleeing from officers on his motorcycle earlier this week, because he was upset about something and did not have a license. Now, 29-year-old Jeremy Miller is in jail.

Cops caught Miller doing 59 miles-per hour in a 25 zone. Police attempted to stop the motorcycle but, after several miles, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

Later that day, the motorcycle was found abandoned in a wooded area near Angelo, Wis.. An investigation led officers to Miller, who was arrested for fleeing. A search warrant was obtained for Miller’s house, and several items linking him to the pursuit were recovered.
