New music festival in La Crosse?

One-day fest could come before April’s Music Fest 

It’s called the Midwest Music Fest, a spring festival featuring dozens of mostly new groups from the Midwest, and it may be coming to La Crosse.

Organizers of the fest talking with members of La Crosse’s Arts Board about bringing in the venue.

A vice-chair of the board, Jan Gallagher, says the proposed festival for La Crosse could feature many musical performances in just one day – though plans are not definite yet.  Gallagher, however, says the current idea is to have the La Crosse mini-festival about two weeks before the main Music Fest in April.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
