Lightning strike causes fires, gas leaks

A lightning strike on two trees on the southside is impacting, so far, dozens of homes. Lightning hit two trees during storms this morning. The strike caused fires and then gas leaks in several homes around Fairway street off of Broadview. The situation has fire department and Xcel energy crews going from house to house looking for leaks which could take a couple of hours. Xcel is asking those who smell gas to contact them at 800-895-2999. Two houses suffered fire damage. Nobody hurt.
