MVC director positive despite conservation cuts

Relief from a La Crosse-based organization that uses state money to preserve bluffland.  Head of the Mississippi Valley Conservancy, Carol Abrahamzon is happy that the the final state budget includes continued funding for a key stewardship fund.  Even if the funding level is half of what it was during the last two-year state spending plan.  Abrahamzon says her group always has a strong application for funding from the state and she’s confident that history of success will continue. 

 

The Knowles-Nelson Stewardship fund is budgeted for about $33 million per year for the next two years to buy up land statewide to be put into a conservancy.
