Watchdog group says additional Medicaid money might not help

Take the Medicaid payments. That’s what many people in Wisconsin have urged Governor Walker to do, in order to offset cuts he wants to make in the state budget. Walker has consistently said no to the federal Medicaid money, claiming that he doesn’t think Washington will actually deliver the cash. And Dale Knapp with the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance isn’t sure that accepting Medicaid money will solve the state’s budget problems in part because that money may have to be earmarked for specific budget areas.

 

On WIZM’s La Crosse Talk, Knapp said that Walker’s refusal to take advantage of Medicaid funds probably won’t make much difference to voters, once Walker launches his campaign for president.
