County considers art displays, hiring curator

If you attend a La Crosse County Board meeting now, in the basement of the former courthouse, you might notice long blank walls down the hallway. When the county board moves its meetings to Associated Bank in the next year or two, things will look much different. Designers of the new offices plan to keep the glassed-in atrium now featured above the main bank lobby, and a special arts committee is recommending artworks that could be displayed in the main hallway of the new administrative center. The committee proposes a 10-thousand dollar yearly budget to hire an art coordinator who would arrange the art inside the building, possibly featuring mobiles and 3D works.
