Novice Hunter Finds Riverwest Medallion After Three Clues

You don’t have to be an expert hunter to find the treasure in the popular medallion searches tied to La Crosse’s seasonal festivals. Ask Heather Linville, who has lived in La Crosse for less than a year. On Wednesday, she discovered the Riverfest medallion in Chad Erickson Park, after her boyfriend worked out just three days worth of clues.  Heather says her friends are amazed and tells us that just one other person was in the park when she spotted the medallion, and that person didn’t seem to be looking for the prize. She says she was delayed in going to Erickson Park, because she had to wait for a plumber to show up at her home first.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk."
