First Microgrant Awarded at La Crosse Soup

They made some soup this week in La Crosse. La Crosse Soup. An event at the Root Note cafe in downtown La Crosse. People show up, pay five bucks, eat free soup and bread and weigh in on a few ideas about how to make the city better. The winning idea receives whatever gets collected at the door. Last night, organizer Andrew Londre tells us, exactly a hundred people showed up. So a five hundred dollar microgrant goes to Dan Christen, a guy who’s installing a ‘bike fixit station’ in La Crosse. Londre hopes to continue the La Crosse Soup mini crowdfunding event every month.
