No Driving 70 Yet
Yes, Governor Scott Walker put his pen to paper this week for a new 70 mile per hour speed limit in the state. But no, you can’t put your petal to the metal yet. The DOT says it’s still illegal to drive 70 miles an hour on Wisconsin freeways. So where will this new speed limit be in effect around the Coulee Region?
La Crosse County Highway Commissioner, Ron Chamberlain says the higher speeds won’t take effect until the signs are put up on the freeways where 70 will be allowed. That’s expected to happen sometime early this summer.
