Man Dies In Monroe County Logging Accident

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department still has not released the name of a man who died Friday afternoon in a logging accident.

Deputies were called out just after 12:30 Friday to a heavily wooded area in the Town of Leon. After spending quite a bit of time getting to where the accident happened, they found that a 38 year old man had fallen from a piece of logging machinery. The man was then ran over by the machine, killing him instantly.

Monroe County is still investigating the man’s death.
