Mayo Staff To Plant And Plant And Plant Today

Facilities and Dietetics at Mayo Clinic Health System are planning a planting session this afternoon. The purpose of the gardens is to promote not only homegrown gardening, but healthy eating as well.

Kathryn Oslund is a registered dietician at Franciscan Healthcare, and is also head of the project. She says the harvested produce will be incorporated in Mayo’s own Marketplace Restaurant on the La Crosse campus. They will also be used for educational purposes with the patients, visitors, and employees.

Last year, folks at Mayo planted vegetables throughout the La Crosse campus to help promote gardening in the community. 9 items were grown. This will be the 2nd year Mayo Clinic Health System has led in this effort.
