Subdivision Fight In Shelby

Big plans for a new subdivision on an old golf course in the town of Shelby.  But those plans appear to be on hold for now because of inaction by the La Crosse city council.  The old Irish Hills golf course is close enough to the city so that La Crosse can exercise control over its future development.  But mayor Tim Kabat wants Shelby and La Crosse county to agree to some revenue sharing for the amount of services that the city provides to surrounding communties.  He wants, among other things, an agreement in place for that revenue sharing before the subdivision is approved.  Following his lead, a council committee has voted Tuesday to delay approval for the Willow Heights subdivision for another month.  The town of Shelby and the county have already approved the development.
