Statewide Tornado Drill Today

It’s only a test.  As part of Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, the National Weather Service will be conducting a tornado drill starting at one this afternoon.   A tornado watch will be issued for all of Wisconsin and broadcast on Weather Radio. At 1:45 the weather service will issue a test tornado Warning. The test warning will be broadcast as a test on Weather Radio but use the actual warning code for a tornado.  The weather service says the state averages about two dozen tornados a year, with the largest number coming in June
