DARE Celebrates 25 Years Today

In 1990, La Crosse was the first city in Wisconsin to offer the DARE program to its students. Since its implementation, over 11 thousand fifth grade students have graduated from the DARE program. Later today, DARE will celebrate their 25th year in existence with a graduation and some dignitaries. DARE Officer, Kurt Weaver has been with the program almost 12 years now. We asked him….25 years later…is the program still working?
 
 
42 Northside Elementary students will graduate at 1pm today along with a proclamation from the Mayor and Senator Jennifer Shilling. By the way, La Crosse now has the longest standing DARE program in the state.
