Independence Organization One Of Three Statewide To Get HUD Funds
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded more than $36 million in grants to hundreds of national, regional and local organizations to help families and individuals with their housing needs and to prevent future foreclosures. HUD Secretary Julián Castro talked with reporters this morning.
Almost $11 thousand will go to the Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council in Independence for comprehensive counseling. They are only one of three organizations in the state to recieve the funding.
