Former Historical Society Head Heading To Court

The former head of a local historical society is expected in a La Crosse

courtroom next week, on a charge of stealing thousands of dollars from the group.  Onalaska police announced the arrest of Ward Keil late last week.  Keil is accused of stealing the money over several years, partly because of a gambling addiction.  Former La Crosse County clerk Sharon Mahlum discovered problems in the financial records when she was elected treasurer of the Onalaska Historical Society.
