Guard Member Dies In Okinawa. Student From UW-L

At this time yesterday, we were reporting on the death of a Wisconsin National Guardsman in Japan.  There was so little information about the fatal fall from a window, that a wire service report assumed the person who died was a man.  Today, we’re told the guard member was a woman, and a U-W-La Crosse student.  Airman 1st Class Kelly Tomfohrde was from Auburndale, Wisconsin.  She died on Sunday.  Tomfohrde had been serving in Okinawa, with the 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin National Guard.
