Fatality Free Roads
Just in the last week, Wisconsin recorded its 100th traffic death of the year. The highway toll is about 20 ahead of the total in early April a year ago, but more than 20 counties have had no fatal accidents yet in 2015. La Crosse County is among those counties that are fatality-free. Sheriff’s Captain Mike Horstman credits citizens for calling police, to alert them about dangerous drivers:
La Crosse County has recorded at least 5 traffic deaths a year in the past five years. The statewide total for road deaths in 2014 was less than 500, for the first time in about 70 years.
