Nuke Plant Shutdowns Should Not Be Concerning

The fifth shutdown in less than a year of one of the units at Xcel energy’s

nuclear power plant near Red Wing shouldn’t cause alarm.  So says the guy who runs the Prairie Island facility, Kevin Davison

Xcel took unit two at Prairie Island offline on Friday morning after a water supply problem.  Just last month, the same unit was down for three weeks during an investigation of a fire alarm in the plant’s containment building.
