Holmen Gears Up For Ballot Measures

Next Tuesday is the April 7th spring election. On the ballot in Holmen are two referendum questions that ask if the community will support a four-year technology initiative and an indefinite funding increase for building maintenance and the school’s fleet of buses.
 
School Board President, Cheryl Hancock says the technology portion of the ballot measure is quite interesting.

She says the school board found that quite a few districts are using this program now.

The Chromebook program for middle and high school students comes in at $655 thousand annually starting this fall. The funding for buildings and transportation would cost the district $335 thousand each year starting in the 2015-2016 school year and continuing until the board ends it.
