Snow Stomps Out Fire Danger

Nothing like a few inches of new snow to lower the chances of a wildfire in

western Wisconsin.

 

The Wisconsin DNR has changed the fire danger level in the La Crosse area to low, following the area’s heavy snow today.  Throughout the weekend, the danger rating had been high, after several days without rain or snow in the region.  Late this morning, the DNR still listed eight counties in the central part of the state, including Juneau and Adams Counties, as high-risk areas for fires.
