South Avenue Plans

A southside La Crosse city council member has no problem with the DOT backing

off of plans to widen South Avenue.  Fran Formanek says that falls right in line with a new transportation vision in the city that emphasizes street improvements that benefit people, not just cars

The DOT tells the city’s board of public works this week that it won’t pursue a South Avenue project as the city considers it’s overall transportation plans.  South Avenue is one of the busiest streets in the city, carrying well over 20 thousand cars per day at times.
