Houston County Commissioners Under The Microscope

A week after the Houston County Board voted against a ban on frac sand

mining, supporters of the ban are questioning the competence of board members.

 

The group ‘Families Resisting Energy Extraction’ wants answers from the three commissioners who opposed a ban on sand mines, just two weeks after voting for the idea at a previous meeting.  Group members have released a statement wondering whether the three people who switched their votes are ‘competent’ to protect public health and the environment.  Representatives of the group were planning to speak with county commissioners at a board meeting today in Caledonia.
