Governor Scott Walker is weighing what he calls a bold proposal to merge

state agencies, cutting staff, consolidating programs and streamlining services to save money.

 

In his weekly radio address, Walker says the first consolidation hew would like to see is the Forward Wisconsin Development Authority, which will guarantee efficiency and sharpen the focus on economic development and job creation. The other?

The state of Wisconsin employs nearly 40 thousand workers. Walker foresees merging departments that overlap services and saving the salaries of those in leadership positions.
