Vernon County Man Hurt While Logging

A 59 year old rural Viroqua man was seriously injured this morning while

taking some trees down in Vernon County. Stanley Niemyjski was conducting logging operations on private property east of Stoddard when he was struck with part of the tree he was working with. Niemyjski was working an area of steep terrain. The injuries were potentially serious, but Niemyjski remained conscious throughout the rescue and he was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
