Survey Gives Direction to City’s Housing Grant Dollars
How safe is the city of La Crosse? Very. That’s according to a survey conducted by the city late last summer. The survey found 78% reported feeling either very safe or somewhat safe in their neighborhoods. The survey is part of the city’s planning process in this year’s allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds. Much of 1.5 million dollars in the program will be used for housing replacement, which the vast majority responding to the city’s survey said was a high priority in the coming year. A city council committee this week will consider final decisions on block grant funding.
