The new device at Mayo Clinic Health System is called a linear accelerator, which delivers radiation to cancer patients. Abigail Stockham is a cancer specialist at Mayo in La Crosse. She says the ‘True Beam’ machine allows doctors to give radiation treatments more accurately:
Dr. Stockham says the Mayo staff had months of training with the new machinery before routinely using it on patients.
