Assistant Chief; Officers Attacked With Knife Could Have Used Lethal Force
Proof this week that policing is not a job that’s for just anyone. A couple of veteran La Crosse cops found themselves in a sticky situation when a guy they went to arrest on a felony warrant pulled out a knife and started swinging. They survived and, almost surprisingly, so did the guy with the knife
Assistant police chief, Rob Abraham. 53 year-old Randy Burzinski faces charges for the attempted stabbing. Abraham says the two officers would have been justified in using their firearms during the knife attack but could not do so safely because of the close quarters they were in while trying to arrest Burzinski.
